Currently, Najlaa is a Ph.D. student in engineering electro optics and photonics at the University of Dayton and has been teaching as a part-time math professor at Wilberforce University since February 2021.

Shay loves to write poetry and cuddle with her little Chiweenie while watching ’80s horror movies.
